From Black-Rose-117
"Hello, I just started a group a few days ago called Write2liveCancerFree which is a group where writers of all sorts (poetry, short stories etc.) enter their writing in a monthly contest. At the end of each month, myself and a few friends pick winners (normally 1-2) who will, at the end of the year, be published in a book. This book's profits shall all go towards a Cancer Research Center and help in the fight against Cancer.

I was hoping you would help spread the word to all the lovely writers in this group who would possibly want to take part in this project.

Thank you,
♥Blake Moriarty"

Welcome to Bentleyville (Ghosts of Christmas Past)Welcome to Bentleyville (Ghosts of Christmas Past)
I have always loved the snow.  The way it drifts down from the sky in softly fluttering brigades and lands upon my eyelashes, its refreshing caresses and ticklings, and how it buoyantly supports one as they roll around in it, happily unaware of anything else but the snow.  Snow is perfect, crystalline.  Ethereal.  Otherworldly.
I dislike the holiday season.  I fear it.  To me, it is a season of relentless questions, disrupted families, high tensions, turmoil, and death.  It is hard.  It makes me want to hide in my closet and curl into a little ball, like I did when I was a child and didn't want mommy or daddy to hear me crying.  If I didn't have snow, I think that I would go insane.  I think that my grip on reality would slip, and I wouldn't be able to hold on.
I wish I could love the holidays.  I wish I could enjoy Christmas.

Holding OnThey said that if he were good, Santa would bring him whatever he wanted for Christmas. Dominic knew exactly what he wanted. He didn't know how Santa would do it, but he was sure that if he were good enough, Santa would find a way. Santa was magic. Santa could do anything.
So he tried to be the best he could possibly be. He ate all of his vegetables, even the green beans, which he hated. He did all of his homework without being told, and was quiet when asked to be, and did his very best to be nice to everyone. When Carrie, at school, had stared wide eyed at his new pencils, he had shared them with her. And when Mom and Dad yelled at one another he sat in his room and stared out the window, trying hard not to cry so as not to cause any problems. It always made them yell louder, when he cried.
When Christmas time came near he wrote out his letter in his very best writing, making sure that Santa knew exactly what he wanted. He didn't let Mom see it, even though she asked, and held it clas
